On good old St Patty's Day night their was a little awards nite ceremony we were invited to for Edward completing Upwards Basketball. Above all the cheerleaders put on a little show for us.
This gentleman was a magician and boy was he awesome. The kids loved this dude!
Pulling the classic nothing in my hands and then appears a cloth!
This little girl is holding a magic wand and it kept falling over and wouldn't work so all of us were told to say "You need a Bigger Wand."
Then appeared a Bigger wand. However it wouldn't work either so we again had to chant, "You need a Bigger wand!"
Again a Bigger wand appeared. However it wasn't working either so we had to chant again, "You need a Bigger Wand!!"
Once again the wand grew larger but it sadly didn't work either, so once again we said "You need a Bigger WAND!"
The wand GREW again. Poor girl, you know what we said when this one wouldn't work...."YOU NEED A BIGGER WAND!!!"
Wowzer!! The wand grew so BIG the girl could barely hold it let alone carry and use it!!! giggles.
Guess, what? This HUGE wand worked and JESUS appeared on the cloth.
Next this trick made some kids cry in fear. This was one of the basketball coaches, Not Edward's but he had to place his hand in here and get it cut off!!!
The magician had just told the coach he is going to chop his hand off. The guy was terrified and this made the kids cry even more. Poor kids. The Magician said its okay I'll put it back together no worries.
Then he chopped the coach's hand and the coach did a little too good a job of selling his fear. As more kids shrieked in fear.
TA-DA!! All fixed and back together. These men loved that they freaked out the kids. I found it sort of mean but I knew it was all done in fun. Naughty boys!!
Next names were called and awards were handed out. Edward is seen here number 13 receiving his awards from his Coach.
All the teams were lining up to be honored and clapped for. Edward said he was searching for me and couldn't see us anywhere.
Edward in the massive crowd showing me his DVD, Certificate, and he even got an Upwards Lunchbox for school but we home school so it will be used for Disney trips. He was happy to see us. We found out this was the 1st year this church had done this and they even did a raffle to pay for some kids to attend next year. We sadly didn't win but we plan to enroll both Edward and Lucas into it next season. You have to be at least 5 yrs old. Lucas was too young this year. I have nothing but nice things to say about this church and group of people. It was crazy and disorganized at times but had they all just been honest up front it was their 1st year this Mama would have cut them alot more slack. I thought they had done this for years. Well now I understand much more the chaos that it all was at times. I am so excited for next year!!
