Hendrik's 80th

This was my parents table.

This is suppose to be my Mom and Dad on the beach! My Mom got sick and didn't show up for the party but my Dad came. This is how I got the gig. My parents friends always ask me to help them cook and do parties.

Another table.

On the table are little appetizers for each person. There are cheese balls, shrimp chips with peanut sauce and potato sticks.

The boys table of grandkids.

The girls table with Ariel. I had suggested adding her. Had to add my Disney touch.

One of the main tables.

We had music and dancing they partied till 11pm! Had a congo line and line dancing these old folks know how to throw a party.

I loved this one! Too cute!

Our little bar with wines and beers.

Coffee station.

My station with all the foods.

Extra appetizers.

Birthday cake!

Cards and birthday presents.

People slowly began to arrive.

The man in the red getting a beer is the Birthday boy he was camera shy!

They made me take a break to eat. So here's a little pic of the food. By the time I got to eat most of the food was gone. I really didn't wanna eat the food but everyone insisted that I take 5 mins to eat and then back to work. So we had chicken saute on kabobs with soy sauce and pork saute kabobs. Fruit kabobs, sweet and sour sauce, fried rice, egg rolls, mac and cheese for the kids, deviled eggs in a cream sauce, cake and coffee for dessert. It was a nice little feast for the guest. Many went up for 3rds. I cooked everything but the cake they wanted that done at Sam's. The egg rolls and fried rice were store bought and I just added seasoning here and there to do that Semi-homemade thing. It was good and everyone was most pleased. They had a photographer there who snapped some more shots of me in uniform. I was busy and had originally planned for my Mother to take the pics of me working but since she was sick my camera sat in my purse most of the evening. Hope you liked it. Was so glad I was feeling better to do this.
I have been sick for the past few days but I had a scheduled catering event that was on Sunday the 24th. I had made the appointment this time last year. So I prayed hard and pulled myself together and went to this wonderful event. It was A Flordia Chic theme. I took these pics an hour or so before the party started these old folks partied from 4-11pm! I took what I could and we had over 150 people. We ran out of egg rolls and fruit kabobs. The person I catered this for is from Indonesia. So we did all the food that style. He turned 80. His wife is in her early 50's. They remind me of Gary and myself. How we will be when we are that age. All their children and grandchildren were there and even coworkers and lots and lots of friends. Hope you enjoy the pics. It was really a site to see. Hendrik is the birthday boy! giggles Marsha his wife did all the centerpieces for each special person at that table. They got to take them home with them at the end of the party.
